The sight word race was not my original idea, but I loved the idea! In my classroom, I have separated the sight word lists in groups of 10 and used the rainbow colors. There is something about rainbow colors. 😍
I have always done trophies in my classroom as they pass off a color set they take a picture with that trophy. So adding in a race car track made it even MORE fun! This helps them see how they are progressing too.
All the kindergarten teachers in our school made a racetrack for our classrooms. We gave each student a car to design and color. Then we laminate them and added them to the start. As they pass off the set, they move their car and take a picture with the trophy! YAY!!
