OK decided to go full throttle in my math program because the district wanted us to test their benchmarks which was based on the program. My scores are the lowest they’ve ever had been! 😱 and I felt they were not going into first grade knowing what they needed to! 😭
So I decided I needed to revamp and do my own! 😏 MATH MAGIC 🥰
Something the students would be interested in and it would be fun for them and me. 🙌🏼
My students were learning well with my holiday math PowerPoints, so I made a bunch of number and counting ones. The students are engaged because it is fun!
Math cards! Having a large set of cards have been so much fun! I use them often. I use them for identifying numbers, finding a partner with the same number, sequencing numbers etc.
I also had cards donated to my classroom for doing student activities like sequencing, teacher fave card and war! In my program, I did make cards to be printed though. They are slightly bigger and no work having to change A to 1.
Math Magic center ideas are in the unit as well. Playdoh to poppers fun!
I also made all my worksheets half, so my kindergarteners aren’t stressed seeing a full page of work. They still get the practice in. 🙌🏼
