This may not be spoiling, but genuine saving my sanity! ❤️😁 We all know teachers are a different level of tired!
Teachers are on their feet double or triple amount what they did over the summer. Teachers have spoken thousands and thousands more words than they did all summer.
Teachers have had more patience in the 1st day than probably all summer. 🤪
You get the idea… There’s nothing like Teacher Tired and there’s nothing like First week of school tired. 😳
These are the things that I do and get so I don’t have an added stress those first few days.
1. CHOCOLATE STASH
First day, I make sure my chocolate stash is full. 🤣 I know I am going to need it. I always stock my jar with good chocolate and really great chocolate. The first week I eat the really GOOD chocolate. 🤣 My chocolate stash is in my classroom, but I have one at home too. 🤣
2. NO COOKING DINNER!
I get a gift card for dinner (well, I get it before). You don’t need a gift card, but I always plan a gift card for the gas points. I just always plan on NOT MAKING DINNER. No way! No cooking, dishes or cleaning on the 1st day of school. Possibly the 2nd. 🤣
I get Costa Vida because it’s my comfort food! Plus it’s a drive thru that’s fresh and not deep fried!
3. Yummy Treat
Through all the patience, over talking and being up nonstop all day, I deserve a treat/dessert!
My go to is ice cream because it makes me happy. 🥰Actually it makes me sick 🤦🏻♀️, but now that I know I am lactose intolerant, I get the So Delicious Dairy Free ice cream!
Whatever your fave treat is, get it! Indulge yourself. ❤️
4. Paper Dishes
And I am not going to feel bad about the using these! This week is a “I am not standing and doing dishes week!”
I mean, maybe you like doing dishes, but I do not. I always make sure I have a stock of paper plates ready to use! I have tons of silverware. I could use as well and usually leftover packs from eating out that we forgot to use. But regardless, this is the week of cleaning for me. If someone else wants to use regular dishes, they’re welcome to do the cleanup. 😉🤪
