2016   Christmas Card: Naughty or Nice

So my kids were 7, 4 and 1 years old. They were definitely a lot of “naughty.” Funny how a year later, I honestly can’t remember why I considered them so “naughty”  ha ha ha   I am sure it was a combination of a very active 1 year old and two very stubborn and determined older brothers. But at the time, I felt our Christmas card definitely needed the Naughty or Nice theme.

I made each of my kids a naughty or nice shirt to go with the theme for our Christmas card.

Naughty or Nice

Decisions Decisions

BECAUSE this fit his personality with having to really DECIDE what choice to make and often times it was the “be naughty” decision. ha ha ha He is old enough to know that some of his decisions were not nice ones – every mom knows what that means.

My 2nd son’s shirt said

Dear Santa, Define Naughty

BECAUSE frankly he is only 4 and I could totally see him saying something like “oh, that’s naughty?” with a surprised face as if he doesn’t really know.     ha ha ha     Plus he has that smile that will melt your upset-ness (ya, I make up my own words), so Santa will look at him and believe the whole “I didn’t know it was naughty” face.

I’m too cute for the naughty list.

This was seriously true. Cutest little thing, but got into everything and was that “baby naughty” that is not actually naughty just learning and exploring, but still drives you crazy. And little sassa-pants did not like when things did not go her way. But seriously still so cute.

Christmas Neighbor Gifts:   Naughty and Nice treats

I thought this was a clever idea and hopefully my neighbors “got it.”  I made a ton of the coal treats and broke it into pieces of coal and put them on one side of a gift box. On the other side I made fudge and cut it into squares like gifts. Some gifts got “frosting” bows, so each box had at least one fudge with a bow. I tried a couple caramel recipes and none of them turned out, so I stuck with fudge. In the gifts boxes, I wrote Naughty of Nice?  I really liked this idea, so hopefully the neighbors saw the connection.
