A brand new released book that I had the pleasure of reading before releasing! Plus my review is printed on the back cover! ❤️ What an incredible honor to be picked! 😊

It’s easy to endorse and love a book like Self-Confident Sandy. 😍 The power in this book is incredible. Although the words are simply stated with “I can…” they have incredible power to us especially children. So often kids say I can’t, so simply teaching them to say “I can!” helps pin to their heart and mind.

In my kindergarten classroom, I have the most basic rules posted because that is all that is needed. However, I have two words posted as no say words. Easy and Can’t are not allowed in my classroom. (Or in my dance classes) Read my post about WHY. 😉 Simply stated, words are powerful and this story does a perfect job exuberayting power and confidence.

Along with Sandy’s “I can” phrases, she says she can because “All things are inside me.” WOW WOW WOW All things are inside us, we just need to try and persevere by not giving up. 😍 This is my favorite line in this story!

I also loved her phrase The Best Ever You! We can be our best. Our best is different from someone else’s best. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. Too often we compare ourselves. I have done this as a mom, coach (dance and baseball), and even as a teacher. There are plenty of moms out there that are better at making dinner and explicitly playing with their kids than I. There are lots that are better dance choreographers than me. There are coaches that know the game better than I. Although I am a confident teacher, I know there are others that are better. What I have had to learn and see for my happiness (and to fight my bully of a head), is that all I can be is the BEST ME. I am an adult who is still learning to see the best in me, so to teach a child this lesson is magnificent.

I cannot share my thoughts on this book without mentioning how fun the rhymes are. I love a book with rhymes because the flow of reading is enjoyable.

Being I use this book in my classroom, I made a download to go with it after reading the story. It is a Self-Confident Self-Portrait activity. It is available on TeachersPayTeachers. Follow me on there to get my other items. 😍 This is a great activity for the start of the year! A story, self-portrait and a brag about yourself. This can even be used as a speaking and listening common core standard!

Differentiated pages and gender styles on download.

This book and story is incredible. This book again is a MUST HAVE in homes and classrooms. The message is powerful while the story is darling.

The book can be obtained as a digital download, but I highly recommend a printed copy. This book is a story that should be pulled off the shelf and ready EVERY SINGLE TIME your child doubts themselves. Shoot, even every time you, an adult, doubts yourself. We all can learn from SelfConfident Sandy.
