This tradition went from my girlfriends to a mother daughter night. It is lots of fun each year, so I thought I would share some of the activities for you to do as well.

Dressing up is optional, but it is always so fun to see what everyone wears.

Dinner! Every year, we have witch’s brew (taco soup). It definitely looks like it could be made of some sketchy things for Halloween. 😉 Plus this is the easiest dinner and you can easily make more for a bigger crowd without getting stressed.

Just for fun we have dessert and another brew like item for our drink. Sometimes dessert is store bought abs sometimes we decorate sugar cookies. Go with whatever is right that year. If you want to be extra fun (and can find something) you can add in spider rings or plastic eyeballs from the dollar store if you really want to get fancy. ☺️

1. Witch Make-Over!

We actually do this at the start of festivities as people arrive and the ones that don’t want to do make up know to show up a bit late. Basic make up with dark or Halloween colors are available. We have eye liner and the girls like to draw spiderwebs on eyes or mini pics on cheeks. (Or entire face 🤣) Some years we have painted nails as well.

2. Witch Walk

Play some Halloween music and have the witches show off their outfits!

3. Witch’s Potion

The little witch’s loved this! They each create their own witch’s potion and then trade it with a friend. Then “enjoy.” 😬🤣

I got 3 base drinks, but do how many you want. I picked with colors I felt would look like potion/poison: grape juice, root beer and cream soda.

Each witch got to add in 3 extras to make their potion. Ideas we used: maraschino cherries (hearts 😉), gummy worms (worms), variety of sprinkles (like bones and eyes), craisins/raisins (withered fingers and toes), little candies like skittles and nerds just for fun items. Little squirt in flavors were fun too. I took off labels so they didn’t know what it was just looks perfect for potions. Then they traded with someone else and tried it. Some likes it and others were disgusted. 🤣

4. Broomstick Limbo

Seriously fun! Trying to limbo in witch dresses is super funny to watch. But even more, the girls just have fun with it. They started to have some extra fun to the limbo by going over the low ones in a special way.

5. Dancing

Obviously, I couldn’t leave this out! You can play a Halloween mix, or you can do some YouTube videos. Here are my favorites:

1. Pamela Pumpkin 🤪 We do a mother daughter challenge, so the moms gotta get up and have some fun with it. 🙌🏼

2. Jack Hartmann freeze dancing 😊 Easy moves for even the smallest dancer.

3. Monster Mash 😊 Not too hard but definitely fun for the older and younger girls.

6. Ring around the Cauldron

As simple as this is, the youngest and oldest still had fun with this rhyme.

Ring around the Cauldron, Look inside the Cauldron, Potion Potion, We all fall down!

7. Witch’s Dares

This is my favorite activity! I printed some witch dares, cut and folded them, and placed them in the cauldron. They took turns pulling out a dare and having fun! Download and Print Witch Dares here!

I love watching them do things like: Show is how to ride the witch’s broom, balance a spell book on their head and say witch phrases like a real witch. 🤣

8. Witch crafts

Witch crafts and treats! I am not a crafty person, but kids do love crafts. So many halloween crafts on Pinterest.

9. Scavenger Hunt

If you live somewhere where it’s warm enough you can do a neighborhood scavenger hunt. Make a list of things for the witch’s to find and give them allotted time! Make sure each group has an adult.

10. Decorating cookies

Decorating sugar cookies is always a favorite activity and treat!

11. Witch Attire

One year we took plain witch hats and decorated them with ribbon and whatever else we brought. You can also make witch tutus or shirts.

Witch’s night doesn’t need to be anything spectacular, but just an evening to have fun. Happy Halloween and have fun! ❤️
